Snow

I love the snow. I love skiing on it (on trails, not hills), I love walking on it (with snowshoes), and I even love shoveling it off the driveway (most times). The latitude of these photographs is between 44° and 45° north, which means there is good light for most of the day, due to the low angle of the sun. Photographing the snow offers opportunities to find patterns -- sometimes subtle, sometimes stark -- along with pleasing textures. I love the snow.
